This Facebook game invites users to experience Tchibo’s superior knowledge of coffee. Common quiz mechanics engage players to learn about fun and interesting facts regarding coffee cultivation, harvesting and brewing. The app includes 80 questions and two games of skill. Facebook is seamlessly integrated into the game so users can create invitations, recommendations and timeline posts as some tasks may require a little help from friends. Players can also challenge each other. Successful invitations are rewarded with points. Achievements can be posted and players who run out of lives can ask friends for additional ones. The app generated 20,000 users within the first month.
Our contribution: idea, rough concept, definition of tasks, user titles and achievements, UX design, concept for mini games, highscores, challenges, testing and optimization of point system and usability on multiple devices.
